Do I require a Credit Card to hire a car?
Yes you must provide a valid credit card in the main hirers name to hire a Rent Me vehicle. The credit card provider must also present his/her drivers licence for adequate identification. This is a policy stipulated by our insurance company to ensure that the hirer has a credit reference.
When do I pay for my rental?
Payment is to be made in full upon collection for the estimated charges based on the advised rental duration. This amount is 'estimated' only as rental periods, vehicles usage and optional extras may be altered during the course of the rental.
How can I pay?
Rent Me Trucks accepts all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCards and attract a 1.7% surcharge. You can also pay cash upon return and full amount taken from credit card will be refunded.

What is the cost of extra kilometres?
Trucks 20 per kilometre
Prestige 39c per kilometre
If you require higher kilometres than what is shown on the website, please contact us as we have special packages to help all of your needs.
Where you can/ cannot drive the vehicle
You and any Authorised Driver must only use the Vehicle on a road which is properly formed and constructed as a sealed, metalled or gravel road.
You and any Authorised Driver must not, unless authorised in writing by Rent Me Truck Hire, drive or take the Vehicle:
(a) to Kangaroo Island, Bruny Island or Fraser Island;
(b) into or out of the Northern Territory, Tasmania or to any points in Western Australia
north of Carnarvon;
(c) in Queensland:(1) Highway No.27 beyond Chillagoe in a westerly direction;(2) Highway No. 1 beyond Normanton in a southerly direction; and no further North than Karumba(3) if the Vehicle is a passenger vehicle or truck, beyond Cooktown to the North or Lakeland to the West and no further north than Cape Tribulation on the coast road.(4) On the coast road from Helensvale to Cape Tribulation, or from Laura to Lakeland,
(d) above the snow line in Tasmania, New South Wales and Victoria (being Jindabyne in New South Wales and Bright in Victoria) from the beginning of June until the end of September
(e) on beaches or through streams, dams, rivers or flood water
What if I have to cancel a booking is there a fee?
Cancelled 7days or less of collection - 50% of Gross Total
Is there a deposit required?
Yes, all rental companies require some sort of security when hiring a vehicle. At Rent Me we take the full rental amount as deposit when renting.
Can I get the vehicle delivered?
Yes, we will deliver (charges apply).
Can I use another person’s credit card to hire a vehicle?
Yes this can be arranged by contacting us.
What should I do if I break down?
Firstly contact us. Your vehicle is covered by 24 hour Roadside Assistance.
Can I tow a trailer?
No vehicles at Rent me are fitted with tow bars..
Is there an additional charge for extra drivers?
No we do not charge extra.
What age restrictions apply when hiring a Rent Me vehicle?
The minimum age to hire is 25.
Who can drive the car and extra drivers?
You cannot drive unless your name is presented on the vehicle rental agreement, or you have advised Rent Me that an additional driver needs to be added to the rental agreement.
Do I need a special licence to drive Vehicles?
our 3 Tonne trucks are driveable with a standard open car licence
a LR is required for our Canter 4.0 or MR licence is required for our canter 4.5 and Fighter 6.0 vehicles
How many Kilometres per day am I permitted?
Unless otherwise nominated, your kilometre allowance is an average of 200km per day. I.e. on a 7 day rental your allowance is 1400km total. Extra kilometres are charged at 20c/km thereafter for trucks.
Am I covered in the event of breakdown or the vehicle becomes disabled?
In the event of breakdown or incident, you will have prompt assistance. You must always have your copy of the rental contract with you for this service to be available to you. This service is free of charge for mechanical faults, however a fee is payable ($75.00AUD) in the event of non mechanical fault service requests i.e. driver error issues - such as keys locked in car, a flat battery due to headlights left on or running out of diesell.
How is additional time charged?
Most Rent Me Truck Hire rentals are based on a 24 hour day. A car rented at 10AM for a one-day rental is due back at 10AM the next day. There is a 59-minute grace period. If the car is returned within the 59-minute grace period there will not be any additional hourly rate. Beyond the 59-minute period, an hourly rate will apply until it equals the rate for an additional day. Charges for optional services such as Excess Reduction, etc. are charged as full days after the 59-minute grace period. If a vehicle is returned beyond the parameter associated with a specific rate code the rental may revert to a higher applicable rate.
